WELCOME FROM THE PASTOR

Hello! Welcome to our church's website. It is an honor of mine to give you some information about my ministry and our church's ministry.

I was saved at the age of 16 at a non-denominational wilderness camp called the Trinity Alps of Northern California. After many years of personal struggle and a tour in the U.S. Army, I met the love of my life Jane King. We were married and began a family having two daughters, Kimberly and Kelli. We raised our family in Houston, Texas and attended Memorial Baptist Church in the Greenspoint area. I was ordained as a deacon by Memorial in 1983. I started working with our youth in 1987. I was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in 1990 and then ordained in 1993. I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary extension at Houston Baptist University. I received a Diploma of Religious Education from that institution and continued my ministerial pursuit. I have served as Youth Pastor at Memorial Baptist in Houston, associate pastor of Education and Youth at First Baptist Church of Hamshire, Texas, Pastor of South First Baptist in Austin and am currently pastor of this wonderful church, First Baptist of Oak Hill in Austin, Texas.

Our church has a rich tradition and History, It was founded back in 1932, with some ground plots being donated to build a church on. The church has had a tradition of growth and renewal with many exciting programs and special "Tent Meetings." Hundreds of families have raised their children within the walls of this church. Truly, the church has been blessed by so many people willing to give of themselves, their finances and their talents to make F.B.C. of Oak Hill what it is today.

We have turned another page in history to date and are looking to God for our future. We have been blessed to be able to be debt free with a property which covers over 15 acres and a physical plant that can accommodate growth. Our programming is designed around all age groups with an emphasis on our children. We would ask that you browse through our web site and see what we have to offer you and your family. This is a time of excitement for God's church with a noticed resurgence of people wanting to know the Lord.
